La P'tite Provence - Collab with Manon, Julie and Annisss

Hello, lovelies!  I hope you are all doing well.  I know it has been a week since I last posted, but I have been spending some time at La P'tite Provence.  I wanted to do an "in the market" photo with this look I put together, featuring the Blueberry Zuzu Set, which was recently a part of the Saturday Sales event last week.  I have a weakness for long-sleeve button-down chambray shirts and it goes so well with this blue tie-dye skirt.  It's perfect for vacation wear or a casual shopping trip.  I knew just the spot for the photo!  Grant it, I was only there for a few minutes with my friend Dani the first time, but it left a lasting impression and I wanted to come back and photograph there.

When I landed and started setting up my photo shoot, I was greeted by the owner of the sim, Manon, and her co-owner and wife, Julie.  They took me on a tour of their wonderful Sim and showed me all the pathways and hideaways.  They also introduced me to Annisss, who is a part of their team of preserving and also adding to the build of the sim.  I was so amazed by the style and creation of the place.  I knew I would be spending a few days here photographing the place as there is so much to see and so many photo opportunities and inspirations.  I also felt like I was on vacation being there, which I have definitely been needing.  I sat down with Manon, Julie, and Annisss to learn more about their sim and to get to know them.

The Interview:

Manon, Julie, and Annisss are all from France.  Julie started playing Second Life out of curiosity.  She had been playing for 5 years and she had started due to seeing a video about it and wanted to know what it was about.  For Annisss, she saw a piece of television news talking about the game.  For Manon, she has been playing a couple of years now and she learned about SL from friends that are a couple who had met while playing Second Life.  In this magical trio, Julie is the Mediator, Annisss is the Builder and Manon is the Community Manager.  They have teamed up to preserve La P'tite Provence.

What do you enjoy doing on Second Life?

Manon: Julie and I are both curious about discovering things together.

Julie:  Besides spending time with my wife Manon, building, creating, and improving my avatar.  Recently I started taking pictures and with the sim the organization of events.  I also discovered the live shows and I love them.  But all these things have the advantage of being able to be done by two people so it's great.

Annisss:  For me, I like to build here.

I do see that you are in a relationship, Manon and Julie.  First of all, congratulations!  It is wonderful to find someone special in-game.  How did you meet?

Manon:  It is the fruit of chance that we met.

Julie:  A mutual friend made us end up in the same place.

Manon:  Julie did not believe that romantic feelings were possible, and I had just broken up with someone, so I wanted to forbid myself from falling in love.  We met on an occasion of a photo contest by one of my friends.  I took a picture of her that evening.

Me: I believe it is the translator referring to each other as "he" but you are in fact both females?

Manon: We are two lesbian females

Me: And Annisss?

Annisss: Yes, I am

Me: That is wonderful!  Second Life is celebrating Pride month right now.

Julie: It is a shame that the tolerance is only celebrated for a month.

Me: I agree.  I have a stepsister that is also a lesbian.  Our differences, no matter what, should be celebrated daily.

So how did La P'tite Provence start?

Manon:  We discovered Little Provence thanks to Annisss.  She had given us the landmark so we can visit.  The creator was her friend.

Annisss:  My friend was going to stop playing the game and I told Manon and Julie about this place.

Manon:  Julie, Annisss, and I were building a sim, but unfortunately my account was hacked, and all of our work was destroyed by the hacker.  And chance wanted that at the same period, the creator of Provence thought to drop the sim.  So, we decided to take it back rather than see it destroyed.

Julie: It would have been a shame to see such a beautiful place destroyed.

Me: When did you take over?

Manon: Not quite three weeks ago.  We are extraordinarily lucky to have faithful friends who followed us and joined us from our old land.

What are some plans for La P'tite Provence?

Manon:
We will make it alive.  Make it a place of relaxation, where people can come and chat, listen to music during the evenings, and try to organize live concerts from time to time.

Julie:  Currently we organize parties every Thursday and Sunday.

Annisss:  I have added and built Sky Space and the Blue Note Bar.

Now, who is the shopper and where are the places you like to shop?

Manon: I have 160 different outfits. ^^

Julie:  I think there is a competition.  Never let us go to an art gallery!

Manon:  Omg, you should never.  The paintings, the sculptures, you would be crazy to visit my place.  I no longer have enough walls. I like Digital Art for Sculptures.

Annisss:  Lunar for me.  I have 75% of the store!

Julie: Riot and Adorsy, but it depends on what I am looking for.  Breathe for shoes.

Is there anything else you would like to say about Provence?

Manon: Know that it is a place of tolerance, without religion or politics.

Julie:  And above all, they must come to see it with their own eyes.

Manon:  Like in the John Lennon song, "Imagine".

Annisss:  Here is a video someone created. (1) La Petite Provence: discover and enjoy - YouTube

The live show starts this month.  There is a live vocalist that will be performing on June 24th at 1:00 PM SLT.  Visit La P'tite Provence here.  Also, check out their Flickr Page here.

Thank you so much, Manon, Julie, and Annisss for sitting with me and giving me a thorough tour of La P'tite Provence!  It is one of the places I call home. <3
