Erotic Tales - Ft. Wolf

Hello, lovelies! It's been a minute, eh? I hope you have all been well and enjoying the holiday season. We have reached 2k followers' on Flickr! Can you believe it? Thank you to each and every one of you who have been here and also follow me on Flickr and my other social platforms. It means a lot to me. I do have a collab special for you, as I always do.

I have said this before, and I will repeat it; it is imperative to learn about the people that play Second Life. Especially the ones that spend most of the time creating their art. We all have stories, and I have enjoyed getting to know the people on my blog thus far. Today I have my friend Wolf, whom I met on Flickr. He is a photographer and a writer of, well, erotic tales. I first learned of Wolf from the photos I saw him post on the same Flickr photography group we are both in. It was a series of pictures and stories he did of his wedding with his partner in the game. They were beautiful photos, and the stories were heartwarming to read, even the erotic tales included with this photo series. So I sat down with Wolf to learn more about him and his art.

Wolf is from the Pacific side of the US and started playing Second Life about 14 years ago. He first heard about SL at work. The company he worked for was interested in experimenting with it as a platform for virtual learning.

How did you get started in photography and writing in SL?

I first started because a friend wanted me to post photos on Flickr. After posting a handful of snapshots, I started looking at what other people were doing, and I, for lack of a better word, was inspired to take better images. At one point, I was doing a series with a friend (and model), Kitten Sinclair, the Cheeky Secretary. She liked the way I wrote in-world and suggested I do some writing with my pics. I began at that point to combine erotic pictures with erotic texts, writing stories that would expand upon the images. I have worked on both as a craft.

And how was it received by your audience and the people that follow you?

Well, I was already doing erotic photos at that point, but yes, when I did that series with Kitten Sinclair (the first part of it), that suggestion she made got me started on doing more and more writing as a part. I think it expanded my audience to some extent. I began to receive comments about the writing, appreciative comments. That said, I'm sure the vast majority of my followers look at the images.

Tell us your process of creating the photo and story.

Sometimes, and with some friends or models, I just see something. I already know them, I know what kinds of scenes are likely to be received well by them, and so I have a passing thought, and I think: oh, this idea would be perfect for .... such and such a model. Other times, especially with new (to me) models, I interview them. We sit down together, as you and I did, and I come up with my proposed ideas through our conversation.

Does the storytelling come after you created the photos?

Yes, with rare exceptions. I look at the photos afterward and come up with a story that expands on them. Sometimes, I see the narrative in my head before shooting, but I don't write a word until the shot is done. Other times, I sometimes take a photo about something that has already happened, so the narrative already exists in some sense.

You are very professional in dealing with me, and I appreciate that very much. However, collaborating with someone can sometimes be a hit or a miss. What has been your experience like with collaborating with others?

For the most part, I have had no issues. I mean, sure, models vary in their professionalism, but by keeping a professional manner when I work with models, especially when the scene is an intimate one, I don't run into issues. Honestly, the only thing that tends to go awry is that my process has multiple steps; sometimes, the model I've interviewed and made a pose for is never available to shoot. So when I generate ideas, they tend to be tied, in my mind, to the model who inspired them.

Is there something you would like to add regarding your art that you want the readers to know?

First off, I don't think you can rely on anything I write in my narratives as being based upon anything that has happened, in-world or not, but some things are, in fact, true. And the other is that I always want to keep working on something, learning things, and trying to explore different things. I have a degree of compulsivity. I want to post three times a week, so I know I need to keep working to build up some "inventory," and that means I need to keep generating ideas. I think that's why I like to work with many different models. My interactions with models help keep me coming up with fresh ideas.

Since this is a fashion blog, my final questions have more to do with that. Do you have a favorite store or events you like going to?

The suit I chose for your portrait of me is a Deadwool. Masa makes such fine clothing; when I have the Linden to spend, I often spend it on Deadwool. There is one other vendor I really want to buy things from, but they do not make clothes for my body, and I am tempted to publicly display my frustration about them because their clothes are that good! Other than that, I wouldn't say that I have particular favorites. I find a lot of stuff that I like in events like the 60L Weekend Sales, The Saturday Sale, and that tends to have me spread it around about a dozen or more vendors who sell men's clothes.

Thank you so much, Wolf, for sitting down with me to get to know you and to show us the process of your art. You have such a unique platform, as not many people expand on a story about the Flickr photo they take, and I have enjoyed your pictures and reading about them.

Thanks so much, Wolf, for reaching out to me to work on this project.  I enjoyed getting to know you, and thank you for sharing your process with us.

I also want to thank my friends who continue supporting me through my journey, Dani, whom I talk to almost every day in Second Life. My friend Kiwi, who has almost become my manager, is getting me to the current events and getting collaborations set up. Bastion, who, whenever called to be "my guy" in a photo, is always ready and willing. And you are always there to hear me out whenever permeated with problems. Thank you. *hugs*
